Our Story / Facility Overview
Beyond Golf Chico was created to bring the community a fun, family-friendly space with truly affordable golf opportunities. At the heart of our mission is Junior Golf outreach, which goes far beyond the game itself—golf is the hook, but education is the goal.
We broke ground at DeGarmo Park in November 2024, beginning with a 9-hole par 3 course designed to be welcoming for beginners yet engaging for experienced golfers. Phase One also includes a 5-bay mini driving range featuring launch monitor feedback, along with a patio where guests can enjoy food and beverages.
Beyond Golf Chico is proud to partner with Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD) and the Butte County Youth Sports and Education Foundation. These partnerships help us stay true to our mission: keeping youth at the center of everything we do and ensuring accessibility for all.
Looking ahead, Phase Two will expand the experience with a dedicated putting course, an outdoor restaurant, and a 10,000 sq. ft. sports technology building. Inside, visitors will find four multi-sport simulator bays and the first-of-its-kind 100’ x 40’ multi-bay indoor driving range powered by integrated Smash Swing technology.
At Beyond Golf Chico, we’re not just building a golf facility—we’re building a community hub where play, learning, and connection come together.
The Vision
Beyond Golf Chico’s 9-hole par 3 course was created with an exciting blend of strategy, challenge, and fun. The layout emphasizes risk vs. reward decisions on nearly every hole, keeping players engaged from start to finish. With holes ranging from 40 to 115 yards, the course highlights the importance of the short game—perfect for beginners learning fundamentals and experienced golfers sharpening their skills.
Instead of traditional grass greens, Beyond Golf Chico features advanced synthetic putting surfaces. This choice not only reduces maintenance and supports sustainability, but also delivers smooth, fast, and dynamic greens with plenty of movement and character.
The course was brought to life through a true team effort:

Together, they transformed 5 acres of flat land into a vibrant golf experience, complete with rolling hills, a large pond, and strategically placed bunkers. The result is a course that feels natural, inviting, and full of variety—designed to inspire players of all ages and abilities.
Mission & Values
Beyond Golf Chico plans to change young lives by providing free access to golf facilities including junior golf tournaments, educational opportunities, tutoring and one-on-one adult mentorship.
